SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. - Lawton Eugene "Gene" Taylor, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday September 24, 2018 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Georgetown, SC.

He was born on March 9, 1939 in Gaston County to the late Lawton and Triephenia Clanton Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Norine Cooper Taylor of Surfside Beach; sister: Rita Taylor Bradshaw; children: Michael Taylor and wife Pam, Tammy Taylor and friend Billy Gunter all of Gastonia. Grandchildren: Loren Taylor Lovelace and husband Jason, April Taylor Watts and husband Jason, Wes Taylor and wife Lindsey. Great Grandchildren: Dawson Taylor and Ethan Lovelace. Niece: Kim Cauthen Williams and husband Tommy. The Cooper Family of Conway, SC.
