Paul Goebel

Paul Joseph Goebel, 79, of Gastonia, passed away July 19, 2018 at Belaire Health Care Center.
He was born January 5, 1939, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Harold Joseph Goebel and Martha Hagan Goebel.
Paul was a follower of Jesus Christ. He was a member of
the Salvation Army Corps in Gastonia and impacted the lives of so many young people through his work with the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. He had many friends in Gaston County and will be greatly missed.
He was a veteran of US Air Force; rank at discharge was AF3. He was a medical technician and will be buried with military honors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Chastain and Jeannette Goebel and brothers, Walter C. Goebel and Ralph K. Goebel.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Wanda Maryvene Goebel and Pat Goebel; nine nieces and nephews and their children.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 24, at Salvation Army Citadel, 1506 Union Rd, Gastonia, officiated by Capt Jonathan Raymer and Major Phil Murphy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 on Monday, July 23, Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC, and at other times at the home of Maryvene Goebel.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
