KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Garland Bryant Wellman, 67, of 140 Wright Road, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at home.
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Gamel Bryant and Ola Mae Costner Wellman. He worked with Ithaca Industries and was a member of Holland Memorial Masonic Lodge No. 668.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl, Jim and Bud Wellman; and sisters, Pauline McAbee, Dorothy Alexander and Bootsie Wingate.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marlene Wellman; four sons, Jason Wellman of Gastonia, Greg Reep of Kings Mountain, James Reep of Forest City and Scott Reep of Gastonia; three daughters, Kellie Wellman Haskins of Gastonia, Beth Reep Richmond of Conway, S.C., and Cindy Wellman Blankenship of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Nell Forbes, Martha "Tiny" Bess and Judy Oren, all of Gastonia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McLean Funeral Directors Founders Chapel. Pastors Robert Winsell, Tim Hendrick and Kenny Blankenship will officiate.
Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, with full Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
