ELKIN - Mrs. Sherry Kay Lyda Enloe, 62, of Lyles Street passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. 

Mrs. Enloe was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Gaston County to O.J and Aline Braswell Lyda. 

Mrs. Enloe was retired from the Veterans Administration and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Johnny Enloe of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Dawn (Averett) Thomas of South Boston, Va., and Johnna Michelle (Bob) Phillips of Greensboro; her mother and father, O.J. and Aline Lyda; two brothers, Jim Lyda of Gastonia and Bill Lyda of Lincolnton; a sister, Nancy Best of High Point; and a grandchild, Lauren Michelle Phillips of Greensboro. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Dr. Don Stephens. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Stony Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Westfield. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday evening at Hodges Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Elkin Baptist Association Toy Store, 147 Carter Mill Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
