Rebecca Ann Lane (West)

GASTONIA - Rebecca Lane "Becky" West, 69, of 1733 Robinwood Road, died Aug. 27, 2008, at at her residence. 

She was a native of Gastonia, daughter of the late Offie McKeever Lane and Lennie Hughes Lane. 

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. 

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Sandy Plains Baptist Church. 

Interment is at Gaston Memorial Park. 

A graduate of Frank L. Ashley High School class of 1957, she was a longtime member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Red Hat Society and Ladies Circle. She worked as a payroll and accounts receivables clerk for Rauch Industries for over ten years, in the billing department for Pharr Yarns, and later for twenty-two years as the payroll manager for Gaston and Lincoln County Mental Health's Pathways Program. She served on the State Employee's Credit Union's N.C. Credit Advi-sory Board. A special thanks is extended from Becky's family to the nursing staff and doctor's in the Emergency Department and sixth floor of Gaston Memorial Hospital, to all of the staff of Gaston Hospice, and also to Dr. David Locklear. 
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Vernon West of Gastonia; two sons and a duaghter-in-law, Jerry & Jeanette N. West of Gastonia and Mark West of Hickory; a sister, Barbara Lane Wright of Myr-tle Beach, S.C.; granddaughters, Callie Ann West of Stanley, Audrey Nicole West of Hickory, Rebecca Grace West of Gastonia and Layna Breanne West of Hickory; a special "sister/cousin," Mary Ann Locak-bay and husband Jack of Blairsville, Ga.; and daughter-in-law, Belinda A. West of Stanley. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Lane and her son, Ste-ven West.

The Rev. Stephen Hensley will be officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cochran, Phil Huddleson, Taft Ballard, Bill Griffin, Frank Brannon, Roy Beatty, Stacy Trull, Al Crawford, and Doug Rathbone 

In leiu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Gaston County, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, N.C. 28054.
